Sometime ago, I blogged about Kedai Makan dan Minum Pantai Laut, as one of the best asam pedas available in Batu Pahat. Now, I feel obliged to introduce its other worthy dish – lontong. We are obsessed with lontong, to a great extent. The best lontong in Batu Pahat is still Mak Ani’s, but it’s equivalent to waking up early before it sold out. On the contrary, Pantai Laut serves wholesome lontong from morning till noon, and their portion is bigger.
At RM4 per bowl, we could not ask for more. What I like most, is that they took the time to cook the vegetable to soft texture. The nasi impit too, were fully cooked and soft, that will put Haji Samuri’s nasi impit to shame. They make a pretty good sambal too, which they dolloped on top of lontong.
The only impairment, was the absence of sambal sotong (squid) and crushed peanuts, or Pantai Laut could have been the perfect spot for lontong.
