I hardly like Lam Mee (淋面). Reason is.. most lam mee out there are cooked with way too much cornstarch covering over yellow noodles that inevitably clumps together, resulting a gooey mess of carbohydrates. My colleague brought me to PJ Uptown recently, and although I am not too enthusiastic to have lam mee, I relent anyway to her zealous recommendation for the supposedly one of the best lam mee in PJ – MKP Lam Mee.
MKP Lam Mee has been operating here in Uptown for a number of years. I had passed it many times before, but like my reasoning, I hardly get attracted to lam mee. My colleague further narrated that it is operated by sister of owner for May King Lam Mee in Pudu. Err.. famous lam mee? I nodded in agreement anyway.
deed order was done, easily with the order sheet where we ticked our selection on it and handed it to the staffs. Menu is simple, including some other selections like curry mee, yong tau foo and chicken hor fun.
My lam mee turned out to be quite good – the gravy wasn’t too gooey so the thick noodles did not clump together. That’s an A for texture.
We ordered their curry mee too, but it came with rather good amount of chicken meat and cockles which made me like this more than lam mee. Nothing works their way to my taste buds better than juicy cockles, although the curry gravy is pretty much standard.
The yong tau foo sold are pretty standard priced ranging at around ~RM1.00 per piece.
MKP Lam Mee is on the same row as Dal.komm Coffee and a few doors away from Satay Kajang Hj Samuri and it’s open from morning till late afternoon.
