Big Brother Restaurant & Grill, Kota Damansara

I remembered someone recommended Big Brother Restaurant & Grill to me before, but I couldn’t remember who. A google search led me to very few pages, that blogs about it. Most of the terms that were used to describe this place were ‘good value’ and ‘big portion’, so it wasn’t really difficult to decide dining there.

When CS parked his car right in front of Big Brother, he was skeptical as there were only 2 ladies dining there. Unlike its superbig striking signboard, the interior doesn’t really shout that much except for the bar where they prepare the food and drinks.

Most of the staffs were foreign workers and communication takes some patience. In our case, we requested to have medium rare only to have the waiter writing ‘m.d’ on the order, which I suspected was medium done instead. Anyway the problem was quickly resolved with another waiter’s help and we were soon served with our Sirloin Steak and Rib Eye Steak.

Sirloin Steak

Like what the others bloggers had mentioned, the portions were big. They came with coleslaw, boiled carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, salad and choice of mashed potato or fries as the side dishes that could have easily curb our hunger even before we touch the steaks. As they didn’t ask us what sauce we would prefer, I can only presume that they only serve black pepper sauce here. Nothing to complain about, because they were generous with it and the sauce was great. My sirloin steak is literally tougher to chew than the tender rib eyes but being an avid ‘chew-er’, it didn’t pose much trouble to me.

Rib Eye Steak

Both sirloin and rib eyes taste pretty good with the sirloin being more flavorful and slightly tougher to chew, while the rib eye was more tender and juicier. It’s really hard to decide which one gets better review than the other. I guess I just love them both even though CS’s vote is on the rib eye.

The meal came at the price of RM70, rather reasonable with portion that could easily shame TGI Fridays. By the way, customers start flocking in when we’re about to finish our meal and my guess is people just love to eat western food only after 8 pm?
